Jakarta Govt Prioritizes Human Approach to Curb Brawls

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government prioritizes a human approach in addressing brawls in the city.

"Now, the approach is more of a human approach,"

According to him, the number of brawls in Jakarta has significantly decreased because the approach to the groups involved is done discreetly, without public exposure.

"Now, the approach is more of a human approach. Actually, brawls have significantly declined because we engage with those groups without exposing them," he said at Jakarta City Hall courtyard on Friday (11/21).

In addition, the city government is also working to channel the energy of youths involved in brawls into more positive and productive activities. Therefore, he hopes that the job fairs held in various areas can provide opportunities for these young people to enter the workforce.

“That’s why we organize job fairs in several locations and generally provide opportunities for these groups to work in Jakarta,” he added.

Previously reported, Pramono led the declaration event of the Jaga Jakarta Task Force, which was also attended by members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at Jakarta City Hall.

The Jaga Jakarta Task Force, in its declaration, also targets issues such as brawls, crime, social conflicts, misinformation, radicalism risks, and disaster threats including floods, fires, and extreme weather events.
