Welcoming Eid ul-Fitr, Jakarta Marine, Agriculture, and Food Security Department is opening a low-cost meat market on the courtyard of Central Jakarta Mayor Office, Jalan Tanah Abang 1, Petojo Selatan, Friday (7/10).

In the market, the department provides 1,200 kilograms of beef worth Rp 39 thousand/kg and 300 kilograms of chicken meat Rp 13 thousand/kg.

"We sell the beef at a low price than normal price at market by Rp 89 thousand/kg and chicken meat Rp 45 thousand/kg," told Head of Jakarta Marine, Agriculture, and Food Security Department, Darjamuni.

Darjamuni ensures that all the meat has good quality, healthy, and halal, because it is a result of cooperation of local meat with PD Dharma Jaya.

"We open the market to simplify people getting cheap meats, considering its price would be more expensive ahead of Eid Ul-Fitr," he explained.

Since morning, the market was already crowded by hundreds of people. They only allowed to buy one kilogram by filling out a form with attaching ID card.

Rudi, (28), a citizen said the event is very helpful for lower-income people. "The meat price is affordable, I can celebrate Eid ul-Fitr by consuming beef," told Rudi.
