Kelapa Island Still Does Not Have TPS

If we say or heard the word "waste", you would immediately give an assume that this is a major problem that exists in every city, in Kelapa Island Urban Village for instance. How ironic, until this time, the area still has no the Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TPS).

Due to unavailability of TPS, the waste is only accommodated in waste cans belong to the locals

Kelapa Island Urban Village Head, Mohammad Yani confirmed despite the TPS in his area is unavailable, but luckily his side still has a waste burner machine (incinerator). In which it can be used for minimizing waste volume.

"Due to unavailability of TPS, the waste is only accommodated in waste cans belong to the locals. After it gets full, then it is transported by janitors," he told, Saturday (7/11).

TPS on Jalan Meruya Utara Asked to Be Closed

According to him, there should be additional waste cans in each neighborhood. But it cannot e realized as there is still no budget for it.

Until now, Kelapa Island Urban Village has never gotten waste cans aid. While the existing waste cans are the own effort of locals and urban village.

"We're lucky, because our incinerator machine is still active, so it really helps solving waste problem," he closed.
