Petugas BPBD bersiap siaga selama terjadinya banjir rob di pesisir Jakarta

Jakarta Warns of Potential Tidal Flooding in 12 Coastal Areas

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has urged residents living in coastal areas to stay alert for potential tidal flood from December 16 to 23, 2025.

"Puncak pasang maksimum terjadi pada pukul 07.00 hingga 12.00,"

According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Tanjung Priok Class I Maritime Meteorology Station, a high tide phenomenon coinciding with the new moon phase could significantly raise sea levels, potentially causing tidal flooding along Jakarta's northern coastline.

"The peak of maximum tide is expected between 7 AM to noon," informed Isnawa Adji, Head of Jakarta BPBD, on Monday (12/15).

Jakarta BPBD advised residents along the northern coastline, including Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke, Tanjung Priok and the Thousand Islands, to anticipate the impact of rising sea levels which could potentially cause tidal flooding.

Isnawa added that residents can monitor real-time information on sea wave conditions via bpbd.jakarta.go.id/gelombanglaut and pantaubanjir.jakarta.go.id.

"If you encounter an emergency situation, please contact Jakarta Siaga Call Center at 112 immediately," he asserted.
