Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung officially inaugurated the members of the Jakarta Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) for the 2025-2028 term at the Balairung Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (12/17).

At the same time, the media landscape is changing rapidly. The convergence between conventional broadcasting and digital platforms, accompanied by the proliferation of hoaxes and disinformation, poses a serious challenge that must be faced collectively and sustainably.
Hence, he underscored the strategic role of KPID in upholding the dignity of broadcasting. KPID is required to remain adaptive and responsive to developments in broadcasting policies.
"(KPID must) exist as a counterbalance, ensuring the broadcasting space remains ethical, healthy, and advocates for the public interest, particularly in protecting the younger generation," he continued.
He also reaffirmed the Jakarta government's commitment to continuously supporting the strengthening of a high-quality broadcasting ecosystem while strictly upholding the independence of KPID. Through effective collaboration, they are capable of delivering broadcasts that are informative and educational, contributing to the formation of a critical society with strong character.
Pramono hoped that all newly inaugurated members could run their mandate with full responsibility, integrity, independence, and courage in enforcing broadcasting regulations fairly and consistently.
"Let us together nurture Jakarta's broadcasting space so that it provides value, fosters public awareness, and strengthens Jakarta's position as a cultured and civilized global city," he concluded.
