Suppressing Price Hike, Market Operation Opened in 37 Urban Villages

The city administration is holding the market operation (OP) in 37 urban villages as an effort to suppress meat price which has been creeping up ahead of Idul Fitri. It will take place two consecutive days on Monday (7/13) and Tuesday (7/14), and is hoped could lighten the people's burden in meeting the needs of Idul Fitri.

Head of Bureau Economy for City Administration, Adi Ariantara conveyed that closing Idul Fitri, the meat price has been risen. It is allegedly due to price games of the meat importers.  

Hundreds of People Flocked to Low-Cost Meat Market

“I suspect there is price games of the meat peddlers which has been supplied by feedlot cattle importers,” he suspected, at City Hall, Monday (7/13).

That is why, Ariantara furthered, the market operation is held to suppress the meat price hike in five cities. The meat is from the government and will be sold cheaper.

“We sell the meat as much as Rp 39,000/kg. His side also involves PD Dharma Jaya by providing the meat quadriceps and hamstrings worth Rp 85,000 to Rp 89,000/kg," he told

On the other hand, the PD Dharma Jaya still has a meat stock between 60-70 tons.
