"We're opening earlier starting December 25, 2025, to January 4, 2026," he noted on Friday (12/26).

Wahyudi said that on Christmas Day, which marked the start of the new schedule, 50,211 people visited the zoo by closing time at 4:30 PM, exceeding the expected 50,000.

Of that total, 14,116 were children, and 36,095 were adults.

"We also recorded 3,316 cars, 5,342 motorcycles, 295 bicycles, and 35 buses carrying visitor groups entering the zoo yesterday," he mentioned.

Additionally, 2,161 people visited the Schmutzer Primate Center (PPS), while the Children's Zoo (TSA) saw 2,719 visitors.

"Thankfully, despite the large crowd on the first day of the Christmas holiday, everything went smoothly. We had anticipated the situation, from parking arrangements to tree safety measures," he explained.

Wahyudi added that to provide an educational and engaging experience, Ragunan Zoo also held special animal feeding sessions themed for Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026.

"We estimate the peak of visitors will reach around 80,000 people on New Year's Day 2026," he said.

Meanwhile, a visitor named Suryani (63) shared that she brought her grandchildren to Ragunan because it's close to home and has affordable entrance fees.

"My grandchildren are on school break, so I decided to take them to Ragunan on a motorcycle with their grandpa. It's nearby, and most importantly, they're happy to see the animals," she said.
