33 Freelancers Hired to Clean UP Drainages in Balimester

Through the new program initiated by Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama, as many as 33 freelancers who recruited as an officer of Infrastructure and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU) in Balimester Urban Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, began to clean up some drainages.

Head of Balimester Urban Village, Agustinah said the number of freelancers in Balimester Urban Village is actually 40 people. But until July 12, only 33 people were already registered. They are directly hired for cleaning up the clogged drainages, arranging parks until cleaning trash. They were recruited by Jakarta Provincial Government on July 1 until the end of this December.

"We sent 33 freelancers to solve environment problem in Balimester. They are honestly useful and helpful to accelerate the environment management," told Agustinah, Monday (7/13).

Those freelancers, He continued, prioritized to cope with the problem of clogged drainages. As for example, currently, they are focused to clean up and arrange a 400-meter long drainage on Jalan Padang RW 03, a 200-square-meters park at RW 05 and another park besides urban village office, as well as 4 official houses in Kampung Melayu, Balimester, Bidaracina, and Rawabunga Urban Village.
