This step is taken to ensure that waste management runs quickly, so that Jakarta is clean again before residents' activities begin the next day.

Head of Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto said New Year's Eve waste is expected to decrease compared to the previous year. This decrease is influenced by the fireworks ban and celebrations that emphasize empathy and solidarity, such as communal prayers and fundraising.

"2,300 personnel are deployed at Monas, HI Roundabout, and along MH Thamrin-Sudirman. Then 1,095 personnel are spread in five administration areas and on Seribu Islands," Asep said, Monday (12/29).

The agency also prepares various fleets and supporting facilities, including 17 mobile vehicles, 43 Typer garbage trucks, and 29 road sweepers.

Then 24 toilet buses, 135 dust bins, 3,395 plastic bags, and 3,395 broomsticks are also prepared and placed at crowded areas.

"We have prepared all these facilities and infrastructure to make it easier for people to dispose of their rubbish in the right place," he added.

During the implementation, the Jakarta Environmental Agency receives cross-agency support. Perumda PAM JAYA deploys a fleet of clean water tanks, Perumda PAL JAYA provides wastewater transport vehicles, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) and the Transportation Agency assist security and post-event traffic management, and the Manpower and Transmigration Agency provides four generators.

"We are optimistic that Jakarta's cleanliness will remain maintained during and after the New Year's Eve celebrations with the readiness of personnel, adequate infrastructure, and community participation," he added.

During the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays, the Jakarta Environmental Agency is also anticipating an increase in tourist visits to several destinations. Cleanliness monitoring and management will be focused on the Ancol area, the Prasasti Museum, the Literasi Park, the Jakarta International Velodrome, Kota Tua, Setu Babakan, M Bloc Space, Blok M Hub, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Untung Jawa Island.

Asep stated that waste management in tourist areas is carried out quickly and responsively by deploying 1,095 cleaning personnel and strengthening coordination with local area managers.

"We also really hope for the support and participation of visitors, especially by disposing of trash in its place and reducing the use of single-use plastic," he appealed.
