Dancing Fountains and Video Mapping Liven Up New Year's Eve at Monas

The National Monument (Monas) area remained packed with visitors celebrating New Year's Eve despite the absence of fireworks and entertainment, Wednesday (31/12). They were entertained by dancing fountains and video mapping performances that lasted until the very moment the new year arrived.

Nazriel (29), a visitor from Tangerang, admitted that he really enjoyed the video mapping show at the Monas monument while spending time until New Year's Eve.

"It's understandable that there weren't any fireworks, as we were mourning the disaster in Sumatra. But the event was still exciting and lively," he admitted.

Head of UPK Monas, Muhammad Isa Sanuri explained the Monas area will remain open until 12 AM., while the Monas Monument area will remain open until 6 PM.

"Even though there is no entertainment stage, we present dancing fountains and video mapping to entertain the public," he stated.

According to him, the dancing fountain will be held three times each evening. The first session will be from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the second from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and the third from 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Then the video mapping is presented in two sessions. The first session is from 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM and the second is from 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM.

"After that, we will close operations while urging visitors to leave the Monas area," he explained.
