Monas Records Massive Turnout on Day Two of New Year’s Break

The National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta remains a primary attraction for tourists celebrating the New Year 2026 holiday.

As of 10 AM, on Friday (1/2), the historic landmark had already recorded 4,457 visitors.

Monas Management Unit (UPK Monas) Head, Muhammad Isa Sanuri explained that the turnout included 4,404 domestic travelers and 53 international tourists.

Beyond the general Monas grounds, visitors may also access the National Monument (Tugu Monas) itself. For those wishing to ascend to the summit’s observation deck, ticket prices are:

Observation Deck (Summit):

Adults: Rp 24,000

University Students: Rp 13,000

Children: Rp 6,000

Museum Only:

Adults: Rp 8,000

University Students: Rp 5,000

Children: Rp 3,000

Meanwhile, admission to the museum is priced at Rp 8,000 for adults, Rp 5,000 for university students, and Rp 3,000 for children.

“Tickets can be purchased using a JakCard or other cards issued by Bank Jakarta,” he explained.

Monas recorded 59,180 visitors during the New Year's holiday on Thursday (1/1), January 1. The total included 58,843 domestic tourists and 337 foreign nationals.

Of that total, 13,183 people ascended to the landmark's summit.

"Notably, officials confirmed that 100% of the visitors who reached the observation deck were domestic travelers," he stated.
