Used Cooking Oil Donation Program Intensified in Kebayoran Baru

A total of 50 liters of used cooking oil was collected through the Used Cooking Oil Donation Program held in Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta.

"...provide tangible benefits for the environment and the community,"

The program aims to reduce environmental pollution, particularly water pollution, caused by the improper disposal of used cooking oil.

Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Head Iwan K. Santoso noted the initiative aligns with directions from South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar to help reserve the environment.

"The used cooking oil was collected from employees at Kebayoran Baru Sub-district office, including civil servants (ASN) and individual service providers (PJLP)," he said on Monday (1/19).

Iwan called on employees in the Kebayoran Baru sub-district to participate by contributing used cooking oil from their households.

He also asked Satpol PP to help socialize the program to traders so they do not dispose of used cooking oil improperly and instead collect and submit it.

"Thank God, although it is not yet optimal, four jerrycans of used cooking oil, or around 50 liters, were collected today," he expressed.

Iwan said the program is being implemented in cooperation with Rumah Sosial Kutub. The collected used cooking oil will be processed to generate economic value, with the proceeds managed as operational funds by the Kebayoran Baru Sub-district TP PKK.

"The funds will later be used for community needs, such as supporting nutritional programs at integrated health posts and other social needs," he added.

Iwan ensured that the program will not be limited to sub-district employees, but will be expanded to RT and RW levels.

Residents are therefore encouraged to collect used cooking oil in their respective areas as a form of environmental awareness.

"Hopefully this program will provide tangible benefits for the environment and the community," he stated.
