70 Motorcycles and 4 Trucks Burnt in Pegangsaan Dua

Great fire gutted a logistic company of motorcycles distribution at Jalan Pegangsaan Dua, RT 06/02, Pegangsaan Urban Village, Kelapa Gadung, North Jakarta, Tuesday (7/14).

The fire which was happened to PT Farani occurred at 8.30 AM. Fortunately there is no casualty found in the incident. But as many as 4 trucks and 70 motorcycles of various brands ready to be distributed were burnt completely.

Pegangsaan Urban Village Head Abdul Buang stated the fire was allegedly triggered from one of the motorcycles burnt. The cause is still unknown, yet fire then stroke the other vehicles thus causing the great fire.

"Based on the information gathered, formerly there is only one motorcycles burnt then it stroke to the others. The incident occurred at 8.30 AM," he explained.

Head of North Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Satriadi Gunawan claimed he still cannot ensure the cause of the fire. However he did admit, the fire was from one of the motorcycles on one of the trucks.

"There are 70 motorcycles and 4 trucks that burnt in the incident. The estimated loss reaches Rp 2 billion.

He said, the blaze was successfully extinguished about 9.30 AM. "The blaze was successfully extinguished about 9.30 AM. As for the fire cause is still being investigated by the police," he disclosed.
