East Jakarta Clears 11 Fallen and Damaged Trees

Around 66 personnel from the East Jakarta City Parks and Forestry (Tamhut) Sub-agency and PPSU Task Force cleared at least 11 fallen and broken trees caused by heavy rain and strong winds on Friday (1/23) late afternoon.

East Jakarta Tamhut Sub-agency's Green Belt and Cemetery Section Head, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita, said the removal was carried out swiftly and completed the same night despite rainy conditions.

"The work was completed last night to ensure that community activities were not disrupted," he said on Saturday (1/24).

He detailed that joint personnel successfully cleared 10 fallen trees, including a flamboyant tree measuring 45 centimeters in diameter on Jalan Tanah Mas Raya, Kayu Putih Urban Village.

Other fallen trees removed included a Spathodea tree with a diameter of 110 centimeters on Jalan Raya PKP, Kelapa Dua Wetan; an 80-centimeter-diameter palm tree on Jalan Bengrah, Cijantung; a 70-centimeter-diameter tanjung tree on Jalan Arista Raya, Pondok Kelapa; and a 50-centimeter-diameter water apple tree on Jalan Selat Bangka, Duren Sawit.

In addition, personnel removed a 40-centimeter-diameter breadfruit tree on Jalan Selat Makassar, Duren Sawit, and a 45-centimeter-diameter pine tree on Jalan Kayu Putih 1A, Pulo Gadung.

Three more fallen trees, including an angsana tree with a diameter of 120 centimeters, a flamboyant tree measuring 85 centimeters, and a banyan tree measuring 90 centimeters, were cleared from Jalan Raya Bogor in front of the Ministry of Trade office in Ciracas Urban Village.

"Meanwhile, one broken tree, a butterfly tree with a diameter of 15 centimeters in the Bambu Park area of Setu Urban Village, was also cleared," he noted.
