Pramono Emphasizes Importance of Hospital Hospitality in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung pointed out that the key to quality modern healthcare services lies not only in advanced technology, but also in hospitality.

"Hospitality plays a crucial role in making patients feel comfortable when seeking treatment,"

He made the statement while attending the grand opening of Primaya Hospital in Cakung, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (1/27).

"Hospitality plays a crucial role in making patients feel comfortable when seeking treatment," he said.

Pramono expressed appreciation and support for Primaya Hospital's core principle of prioritizing hospitality in its services, noting that such an approach can help patients feel calm and at ease when receiving medical care.

"Hopefully, people who come to this hospital will feel calm and comfortable from the moment they arrive," he added.

According to him, one of the main challenges faced by many hospitals, particularly government-owned hospitals, is the lack of hospitality. Therefore, Pramono emphasized the need to improve service quality at hospitals managed by the Jakarta Provincial Government, both for BPJS and non-BPJS patients.

Currently, the Jakarta Provincial Government has 31 regional public hospitals (RSUDs), 44 health centers (Puskesmas), and 292 auxiliary health centers.

"I have conveyed to the agency head that the most important change that must be made, as mentioned earlier by Prof. Dante, is hospitality at all levels, whether BPJS and non-BPJS patients," he noted.

Pramono expressed hope that Primaya Hospital would bring tangible benefits to surrounding communities and encourage the establishment of more hospitals in Jakarta, adding that the provincial government is ready to facilitate licensing.

Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono Harbuwono said the opening of Primaya Hospital marked the 192nd hospital operating in Jakarta. Despite the large number of hospitals in the city, he noted that many residents still seek medical treatment abroad.

Therefore, he stressed that hospitality must become a non-negotiable standard in healthcare services to complete globally.

"Making hospitality a mandatory standard is essential to competing with global healthcare services for patients who choose to seek treatment overseas," Dante emphasized.
