17 Repairs Get Kelapa Gading Commutes Back Up to Speed

Jakarta’s 'Yellow Squad" personnel have successfully patched up 17 potholes and damaged road sections across Kelapa Gading. The work follows recent floods that battered the district’s main roads, leaving behind significant surface damage that required immediate attention.

Kelapa Gading Public Works Sub-district Field Coordinator, Triyono Wijianto noted that the repair effort took a systematic approach, focusing first on the city's busiest thoroughfares.

"We’ve successfully patched the potholes left behind by the recent standing water. As of Thursday, we have completed work on 17 different locations," he reported, Thursday (1/29).

The breakdown of the work includes 12 repair sites on Jalan Yos Sudarso, specifically between the Mall of Indonesia overpass and the Honda Park bend. Personnel also repaired three damaged sections on the west side of South Boulevard.

The same work also reached Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan and the area near MOI’s Gate A. Depending on the level of wear, the patches ranged in size from small 5-foot sections to expansive 46-foot stretches of fresh pavement.

"We opted for hot-mix asphalt to ensure a high-quality finish and a quick return to safe driving conditions," he continued.

Personnel remain on the ground, sweeping through both major arteries and local residential blocks to identify and fix any lingering hazards. According to him, most of the area's roads have now been restored to a safe and reliable condition for commuters.

Sukapura resident Supi, 36, thanked the maintenance teams for their quick turnaround on the road repairs.

"The road is great now—no more potholes. It was dangerous before, especially at night. We’re grateful for the help and hope the city keeps the roads in this condition," he closed.
