A Fallen Tree in Penggilingan Successfully Removed by Joint Personnel

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds caused a rubber tree to fall on Jalan PIK Penggilingan, RT 01/05, Penggilingan Urban Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta. The tree fell on the roof of a food stall, disrupting residents' activities.

Head Section of Green Belt and Cemetery for East Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita said the fallen tree was a rubber tree with a diameter of about 60 centimeters and a height of approximately 10 meters.

"We immediately evacuated the rubber tree that fell and hit the roof of the stall so that it would not endanger local residents," he said, Friday (1/30).

Made reminded residents to report to officers or through RT/RW administrators if they find trees that are too thick or at risk of falling.

"I also ask residents to be more careful because according to BMKG, Jakarta is being hit by extreme weather," he added.

Meanwhile, Staff of Economy and Development for Penggilingan Urban Village, Abdi Matondang, explained the evacuation involved 20 joint personnel.

"The entire tree trunk was cut into several pieces and then disposed of. We also deployed 10 PPSU personnel to assist with the handling at the location," he explained.
