Takbir Keliling in East Jakarta will Be Monitored Tightly

Despite there has been a warning not to conduct takbir keliling (a parade during which participants chant praises to Allah in vehicles around the city) on Idul Fitri's Eve has been announced, yet it seems remain to be conducted by some citizens, especially young people.

To create conducive and solemn situation, the East Jakarta Administration and police will monitor and supervise citizens who parade on Idul Fitri's Eve.

By involving police, we will monitor those who do parade. They will be divided to other areas in a bid to avoid conflict among citizens ,” stressed East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana, Thursday (7/16).Musyawardhana furthered that citizens would be better to celebrate Idul Fitri's Eve in mosque or small mosque in each residential.
“Celebrate in mosque can minimize conflict and traffic accident. If you use the pick-up car or motorcycle, it will disturb other people. This is very detrimental to yourself,” he uttered.
He also has instructed all apparatuses, starting from sub-district and urban village heads to monitor each region on Idul Fitri's Eve. “They have to monitor parade activity, hopefully all areas in East Jakarta could already be free from this at 12 AM,” he disclosed.
