Karet Bivak Public Cemetery Crowded by Pilgrims

On the first day of Idul Fitri, the pilgrims began to flock to a number of Public Cemeteries (TPU) in the capital city. One of them is in Karet Bivak Public Cemetery, Jalan Penjernihan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. 

We are visiting relative's grave, it's certainly conducted routinely

Relaying on beritajakarta.com's data, since this morning, the cemetery is very crowded by the pilgrims ranging from adults until kids.  Such condition is also used by street vendors to open their stall and the cemetery janitors offering their service to the pilgrims coming. 

Haholongan, (35), a resident of Cibubur Urban Village who came along with his two children admitted such pilgrimage tradition is routinely conducted on Idul Fitri.

"We are visiting relative's grave, it's certainly conducted routinely," he told, Friday (7/17). 

Head of Central Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-Department, Themy Kendra Putra appealed the pilgrims to keep maintaining cleanliness of the cemetery. Besides, his party also has coordinated with Social Sub-Department to banish the People with Social Welfare Problem (PMKS) in the cemetery area. 

"Officers are  needed to banish the PMKS, yet the role of citizens is very important to maintain the cleanliness of the cemetery," he finished.
