300 Trees will Be Planted Under Toll Road

After the demolishment of hundreds illegal buildings under Wiyoto Wiyono toll road, Pejagalan, North Jakarta, Thursday (7/23), the North Jakarta Park and Cemetery Sub-Department will plant 300 trees in the area. It aims to prevent re-establishment of the building.

Demolishment Under Toll Road Completed
Those trees such as frangipani flowers (kamboja) and rain tree (Trembesi) are going
to be planted on the 2,000 square meter land. The effort will be done after
debris material is cleaned up.
Head of North Jakarta Park and Cemetery Sub-Department, Agustin Pudji Astuti acknowledged that his side is ready to make the area green that previously used as illegal residential. Above at all, the effort aims to reduce polution from the vehicle which passing toll road.
“Too much polution, we’re going to plant around 300 protector trees after the demolishement is done,” he said, Friday (7/24).
Penjaringan Sub-District Head, Yani Wahyu Purwoko acknowledged that his side has deployed a heavy equipment to ease cleaning and also function to flatten the land contour.
“We want to accelerate cleaning process, that’s why we deployed a heavy equipment,” he uttered.
