Ahok Impressed of Army Performance Cleaning Ciliwung River

The hardwork of Army Soldiers cleaning Ciliwung River gained appreciation from Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok'Tjahaja Purnama. Even the Governor hoped, Army would keep helping the City for maintaining both environmental cleanliness and security in the Capital.

"We want entire Jakarta would be clean of trash. Even i told them (Army-red) the target is there will be none of cigarette butt found in Jakarta. The river also should be clean as it is artery of Jakarta," said Ahok, after he became an inspector of muster along with The range of Jakarta Provincial Government, Army/Police on Makodam Jaya Field, Monday (7/27).

He mentioned, currently the river condition is already clean of trash. Event some basic points of the river could be seen easily. Such condition should be maintained thus it would be stay clean. There by the river could be used by citizens as water recreational site. Including for Ciliwung Festival that will be held on the upcoming August 14.

Jakarta Military Commander, Agus Sutomo stated, the river handling, has been conducting since December 2014. Everyday 300 personnel deployed to clean the river.

"At this time the result is good, the river is already clean. But we are satisfied just by this. We keep maintaining thus the river keep clean. So we prepare personnel to patrol using rubber boat everyday," he told.

The patrolling officers are also for socializing to citizens who live on the riverbank not to litter the river.
