This year, 61 Pedestrian Bridges (JPO) and 1,000 bus shelters in the city will be renovated. The renovation is purposed for safety and convenience of public transport users.

I can't tell how much the renovation budget is. But, after the auction process is done, the renovation will be started immediately

According to Andri Yansah, Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, currently the renovation project has been proposed in the Jakarta Government Procurement of Goods and Services Agency (LKPP).

"I can't tell how much the renovation budget is. But, after the auction process is done, the renovation will be started immediately," he stated, after coordination meeting of Spatial Planning and Urbanization in West Jakarta Mayor Office, Tuesday (7/28).

Tanah Abang Station-Block G Market will Be Equipped with Pedestrian Bridge

He told that the renovation was proposed as the condition of most of the public facilities at this time is very worrying.

"There are many fences broken off, canopy detached and gone even the billboard on the left and right side detached from the bridge body.

His party, he continued, has prepared a new design to bus shelters renovation. It will provide promotion space as same as the City Hall's bus shelter, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta.

"The promotion space could be used by companies to do advertising thus it can increase Regional Revenue (PAD). Urban village and sub-district heads can attract companies to do it, then the feedback is they can cooperate conducting area arrangement activity," he explained.
