Ahok: No UPS Purchase from Education Dept

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) underwent an investigation of the National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) regarding the alleged corruption of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Wednesday (7/29). There is a memo of understanding with Legislative Council (DPRD) in KUA-PPAS

The investigation was started at 10 AM and ended 3 PM. Ahok answered all question related to the origin of UPS purchase in Jakarta City Budget (APBD), starting from Budget Public Policy and City's Budget Priorities and Preliminary Thresholds (KUA PPAS) in 2014 Revised City Budget.

"There is a memo of understanding with Legislative Council (DPRD) in KUA-PPAS. I answer nothing. I don't know why there is UPS purchase," he insisted, Wednesday (7/29).

According to him, Education Department also not proposed the UPS purchase. In 2014 City Budget, the budget priority was only for heavy equipment purchase, flood handling, and pump repair.

He also claimed the investigation went well. "I'm not tired. I was also given snack and drink. They (Bareskrim) also asked me about my children and my wife, they are okay or not," he explained.
