City Administration Pasy More Attention to Children & Elderly

The availability of public space that can accommodate children and elderly is continually added by City Administration. With such facilities, hopefully, Jakarta could be a friendly place for children and the elderly. Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama acknowledged that the real action to realize the plan is provide the Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA).

“Such public space is addressed to children and elderly,” he said, Thursday (7/30).

His side targeted 60 public spaces to be built in capital. Currently, there are 4 locations of public spaces already built namely, Kembangan, Gandaria, Sungai Bambu Utara and Cideng. While other two locations are being built in Seribu Island and Cililitan. Those open spaces are funded through developer ‘s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and it spread in 5 municipalities in capital. In the next year, the number of open spaces are targeted built 150 locations.

RPTRA must Be Sterile from Thug, Ahok Says

Previously, Chairman of Werdatama Jaya Association, Ery Cahyadiputra asked to add more elderly open space in capital. There are only two elderly open spaces such as on Jalan Barito, South Jakarta and PIK Penggilingan, East Jakarta.

He added that the presence of elderly park isn’t merely monopolized by them. The existing open space is not friendly for them.

“We won’t asked the park to be monopolized by elderly, but it merely adjusted with their condition,” he disclosed.
