City Found Misuse of KJP Fund

Jakarta Education Agency discovered the misuse of Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) funds which is used for karaoke and other purposes beyond education. It is known from non-cash transactions that recorded.

We've got information from Bank DKI about KJP card misuse that used for non-educational expenditures

Jakarta Education Department, Arie Budhiman said, his side found the misuse although there is restriction policy of KJP fund withdrawal trough Bank DKI this year.

"We've got information from Bank DKI about KJP card misuse that used for non-educational expenditures," told Arie in City Hall, Monday (8/3).

Ahok Denies New KJP's System is Lack of Socialization

Based on the data, he added, a number of transactions occurred in some stores that do not sell educational purposes such as karaoke, gold shops, restaurants, gas stations and electronics stores. The value used is also quite fantastic reaching Rp 700 thousand.

"These facts make us to reinforce policies that limit cash withdrawals and make us to continue the socialization," told Budhiman.

Bank DKI General Director, Kresno Sediarsi added, his side already run instruction from Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) to limit the use of KJP funds.

"We have limited cash withdrawals so the students can only take Rp 50 thousand per week in accordance with the education level. However, we can’t control if the KJP used for non-educational purpose such as karaoke using EDC (Electronic Data Capture)," told Sediarsi.
