15 Pump Houses Cleaned From Mud

As many as 15 pump houses that spread in Central Jakarta are cleaned from mud. It aims to smoothen water flow to the river.

According to Herning Wahyuningsih, Head of Central Jakarta Public Works Sub-Department, the depletion on drainages which emptying into large rivers. It is done to minimize flooding.

" All drainages should operate properly. That's why we do cleaning . As for the responsibility of drainage that leads to large river, lies in the department," she explained, Monday (3/8). 

1 Ton of Trash Transported From Drain

Besides that, a routine maintenance also keeps being done on all close circuit television (CCTV) cameras. Even, 55 officers are deployed to monitor 15 pump houses all over Central Jakarta. 

"They (officer) will monitor the pump house. If the damage is found, we will contact the expert. Although we have not been able to minimize flooding, but at least we can reduce it gradually," she said.
