Hundreds of Tanah Abang Street Vendors Back to Occupy Sidewalk

Hundreds of Tanah Abang street vendors back to occupy sidewalks and roadside along Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Jalan Jembatan Tinggi, Jalan Raya Jatibaru and some other points in Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta. As a result, the locations that had been sterilized from them, now become chaotic again. 

We hold a raid every day. But when we're off guard, they are back. We will surely hold the raid again.

The rampant of street vendors selling on sidewalks plus motorcycles passing opposite direction, causing the area chaotic. 

Tanah Abang Sub-District Head, Hidayatullah stated, those street vendors along Jalan KH Mas Mansyur was the rest a raid a couple months ago. About 30 street vendors were relocated to Thamrin City, yet it turns out they still occupy the road. Therefore, he plans to raid them again.

"We hold a raid every day. But when we're off guard, they are back. We will surely hold the raid again. For now, we're making them warning letter to immediately leave the land," said Hidayatullah, Tuesday (8/11). 

Besides raiding street vendors, the sub-district side also intends to demolish some shop houses along Jalan KH Mansyur which violate Road Boundary Line (GSJ).
