218 Palmeriam Street Vendors will Be Raided Today

As many as 218 street vendors in Palmeriam Market, Matraman Sub-District, will be raided today or Wednesday (8/12). Besides violating the Bylaw No. 8/2007 on Public Order, they also have been provided a relocation place in Palmeriam PD Jaya Market. 

We had warned them before Ramadhan. And we had also held socialization in Urban Village office invited by sub-district side and attended by all Regional Working Units (SKPD)

Head of East Jakarta Satpol PP Operational, Agus Sadiki stated 190 joint personnel will be involved in the raid. 

"There are about 300 if they're combined in three pillars element. This was request help from the Sub-District Head. Their existences on the road are disturbing the traffic, thus makes citizens complained," said Sadiki, Tuesday (8/11). 

Illegal, Street Vendors' Stalls in Senen Demolished

Sadiki told, the sub-district sides had held socialization in Palmeriam Urban Village Office. Likewise the warning was given in last Ramadhan ago. But, the street vendors still persist to sell on the location. 

"We had warned them before Ramadhan. And we had also held socialization in Urban Village office invited by sub-district side and attended by all Regional Working Units (SKPD). They requested that the raid to be held after Idul Fitri. We gave them tolerance to earn money  for homecoming," he explained. 

He added, about 22 of 218 street vendors are furniture vendors, and they will be relocated to Pulogadung area.
