Trash in Gendong River Penjaringan Cleaned.

As many as 60 janitors of North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department cleaned up the trash along Gendong River, Penjaringan, Sunday (8/16).  

This is our routine activity including to prevent flood or puddles during rainy season

The cleaning action was also aimed to anticipate flood during rainy season. 

"This is our routine activity including to prevent flood or puddles during rainy season," said Head of North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Bondan Dyah Ekowaty. 

Area Outside of Proclamation Monument Cleaned

As a result, she told, the janitors succesfully collected trash which were transported using 4 medium-sized trucks for next disposed to Bantar Gebang Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TPST), Bekasi. 

She added, with the clean of Gendong River, she hopes the river could flow smoothly to Pluit Reservoir. 

"We also hope citizens particularly live near by the river to participate in maintaining cleanliness," she disclosed.
