As many as 260 fire extinguisher equipments are distributed to 5 areas in Jakarta. The distribution will be conducted by sub-department of each area.

"It's 2014 procurement. Those equipments have been distributed to citizens through the sub-department," said Head of Empowerment and Community Participation Division for Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department, Abdul Chair, Tuesday (8/18).

He told, those tens equipments currently have been received by RT and RW caretakers of each area. As for the maintenance budget itself will be managed by sub-departments.

"The maintenance budget of the units is handed over to sub-departments, except West Jakarta. Its nominal is varied, between Rp 250 million-Rp 300 million," he explained.

He mentioned, of 260 equipments distributed consist of 76 fire bicycles, 65 manual fire extinguishers (pawang geni), 50 portable pumps, 69 floating pumps.

"Fire bicycles are distributed to Central Jakarta Sub-Department by 15 units, to North Jakarta 16 units, and to East Jakarta 16 units." he disclosed.

He added, 65 pawang geni are distributed to Central Jakarta by 11 units, North Jakarta by 12 units, West Jakarta by 14 units, East Jakarta by 14 units and South Jakarta by 14 units. As for 50 portable pumps are distributed 10 for each area.

"For 69 floating pump, we distribute to 4 sub-department in detail 18 units for Central Jakarta, 13 units for West Jakarta, 20 units for East Jakarta, and 18 units for South Jakarta," he disclosed.
