East Jakarta Administration keeps improving the East Flood Canal (KBT). The area is hoped to be one of culinary tourism and shopping destination.
First stage to beautify KBT is planting trembesi trees
Five zones park development and street vendors reordering are applied by the administration. First park zone is around Cipinang Besar Selatan (CBS), second zone is Cipinanh Indah up to Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi, third zone is Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi up to Masjid Barkah Pondok Bambu, fourth zone is Masjid Al Barkah up to Jalan Kelurahan Duren Sawit and fifth zone is Jalan Kelurahan Duren Sawit up to Jalan Pendidikan.
KBT will Be Transformed Into Culinary Tour Site"First stage to beautify KBT is planting trembesi trees," said Mimi Rachmiati, East Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Park and Cemeteries, Wednesday (8/19).
According to Rachmiati, the tree planting will be done this week. "We've done the measurement and preparation. Now we wait for the action," she added.
The KBT improvement also involves East Jakarta Sub-dept. of Cooperative, Micro, Small and Middle Entrepreneur and Trade. It is because about 800 street vendors will get space to sell along the KBT.
