North Jakarta Administration has installed thousands of street lights. It is hoped the installation will give comfort and safety for residents.

"We have installed 7,354 lights this year around 6 sub-district," said Tuti Kurnia, North Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Energy and Industry, Thursday (8/20).
In details are 859 lights installed in Koja Sub-district, 1,304 in Tanjung Priok, 574 in Kelapa Gading, 1,919 in Cilincing, and 1,275 lights in Penjaringan Sub-district.

The agency uses Light Emitting Diode (LED) light type for the sake of energy saving, especially for protocol roads such as Jalan Yos Sudarso, Jalan Enggano, Jalan Sulawesi, and around Tanjung Priok Terminal.
"We also installed 50 spotlights in Sunter Lake," Tuti added.
She hoped the resident will report to her if there is damaged street light.
