Due to extreme weather and ignorant hands, dozens of street lighting (PJU) in West Jakarta are damage. If it is not going to be fixed immediately, the light off is afraid to increase traffic accident and crime at night.
This road is the main road that is often crowded passing by vehicles every day. The related unit is supposed to be active to monitor the PJU light that off and fix it soon so it would not be prone to accidents
This light off is occurred on both lanes of Pesing fly over, Daan Mogot. There are dozens of lights that have been off since a long time. This condition is also worsening by many holes on that road that could lead to traffic accident.
The same circumstance is also found on Jembatan Lima fly over, Tambora. Dozens of lights on that fly over have been off since long time ago and never been fixed. Riders are urged to increase their vigilance when crossing the flyover.
PLN: Power Outage Caused by Power DeficitSultan (46), a resident of RT 02/01, Pekojan Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District, said that this light off has been ongoing in almost three years. “We have often reported it to the related unit in sub-district level. But in reality, it is not going to be fixed until now, so motorcycle or car collision accidents often occur,” he explained, Monday (5/12).
The same condition also happens on Jalan H Muchtar, RT 04/03, Duri Kosambi Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-District. Around 10 PJU units lighting the road have been off since two months.
“This road is the main road that is often crowded passing by vehicles every day. The related unit is supposed to be active to monitor the PJU light that off and fix it soon so it would not be prone to accidents,” complained Kusnan (50), a local resident.
Head of West Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Dept, Chairil Anwar, denied that his party ignored the light off. It is proven by the fixing effort PJU Pesing and Jembatan Lima fly over that was done a month ago.
“However, allegedly caused by strong wind blows of weather factors or ignorant hands that were intentionally damage the cable, making the lights went out again,” explained Anwar.
Since January until April 2014, West Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Dept had repaired 3,200 damage lights in eight sub-districts.
One of the locations is on Jalan Krendang Timur, RW 01 and RW 02 Krendang Urban Village, Tambora. “For three locations that its PJU are off will be checked and fixed,” Anwar completed.
