Endangered Passengers, KM Bintang Alam will Be Checked

Seribu Islands Transportation Sub-Department will check Bintang Alam Motor Boat regarding the leak of boat that almost make it sunk.

"We will check the boat, if is not feasible to operate then its license will be recommended to be revoked and the boat prohibited to sail," said Head of Seribu Islands Transportation Sub-Department, Marihot Marulitua Sirait, Friday (8/28).

Previously, as many as 70 passengers of Bintang Alam Taxi Boat route Panggang Island-Kali Adem almost sunk as the boat leaked on the machine deck part.

Luckily, the passengers had been successfully evacuated to Tengah Island accompanied by KM Dolphin Express and other taxi boats. As for the passengers evacuated using KM Dolphin Express to continue the trip towards Kali Adem Dock.

"There were many factors that caused the leak, it could be hitting coral or its condition has been fragile, so we need to check it," he uttered.
