“After sheet pile installation is complete, we start to plant productive trees,” said Head of East Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-Department, Mimi Rahmiati, Monday (8/31).

According to Rahmiati, it aims to restore the ambience of decades ago, where Kampung Pulo popularly known for its beauty and authenticity because of a lot of overgrown trees.

“The types of productive trees are mango, rambutan and harp tree,” he told.

Post-relocation two weeks ago, Jakarta Public Work Department immediately re-organized the riverbank by installing a sheet pile and building an inspection road. While for thousands of residents have been relocated to Jatinegara Barat flat.
