Basuki Gave Bonus to STQ Champion

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama gave a bonus for 13 caravans who successfully won the 23rd Tilawatil Quran Selection (STQ) at national level, mid-August ago. This achievement is better than last year which only reached ranking 6.

Basuki acknowledged he was proud with the achievements obtained by 13 caravans this year. Moreover, they are from Jakarta.

"This year, we managed to become the overall champion," he said, when he welcomed 13 caravans, at City Hall, Tuesday (9/8).

He feels confident in the ability of Jakarta people. "Hence, he wants do no more caravan hijacking from outside Jakarta, but must be trained. There must be good, I believe that. For those who cannot be champions, please don't be disappointed," he stated.

Talk about bonus, he details, the first champion will receive Rp 40 million, second Rp 30 million, first runner-up Rp 12.5 million, and second runner-up Rp 10 million.

Assistant Regional Secretary for Society Welfare Section, Fatahillah added bonus was given by DKI Bank Syariah. It was in accordance with the mandate of Jakarta Governor without using non-cash transaction.

"We have endeavored. Alhamdulillah, we managed to win first place out of the 34 provinces," he told.

He expects, the momentum can improve the mental and spiritual of Jakarta people and prepare for Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) or quran reading contest. In STQ this year, the city managed to beat Banten and South Kalimantan, who won the second and third place.
