East Jakarta KPKP Sub-Dept Needs More Freelancers

East Jakarta Marine, Agriculture, Food Security Sub-Department (KPKP) is lacking the freelance for maintaining urban forest. Considering, during prolonged dry season, the routine maintenance process must be conducted.

There are only 20 freelancers. So w e optimize them with mobile system, as their working needs

According to Iwan Indrianto, Head of Agriculture and Forestry Section for East Jakarta KPKP Sub-Department, his party only has 20 freelancers. Moreover, there are 12 urban forests in East Jakarta, which are his party's responsibility.

"There are only 20 freelancers. So we optimize them with mobile system, as their working needs," he told, Thursday (9/10).

Cleanliness Dept. Freelancers Number Declined

He assessed there are some steps for maintaining urban forest. Not only watering, but plant maintaining also implemented. "There are freelancers to do maintenance including watering, irrigation, fertilization and tree-topping," he uttered.

During dry season, he continued, some urban forests could still be managed with water supply around them. As for the other urban forests, are dried since they are far from the water source.

"Like as maintenance of UKI and Cawang Urban Forest, are conducted manually. We optimize the available freelancers to conduct watering using 500 liters of water tank," he closed.
