City Got An Award of Friendly Dementia and Elder

Jakarta Provincial Government received an award for its support to socialize the alzheimer to the citizens. The award was given directly to Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Friday (9/11).

The governor admitted that there is still many home works must be done to realize Jakarta as friendly city for elderly and dementia. Several facilities have been provided to support this program such as Child-Friendly Public Open Space (RPTRA). Nursing homes will be also built in Ciangir, Tangerang.
"Thank you for the award, but let us finish the homework first," he said during World's Alzheimer Day 2015 at City Hall, Friday (9/11).
150 Elders Received Aid from North Jakarta AdministrationAt the same time, City Administration also declared about Jakarta to be dementia and elderly-friendly city. The declaration was read by the governor together with executive Director Alzheimer's Disease International Marc Wortmann, Executive Director Alzheimer's Indonesia DY Suharya, and Regional Working Unit (SKPD).
Executive Director Alzheimer's Disease International, Marc Wortmann, stated that Jakarta is consistent to realize dementia and elderly-friendly city.
"We appreciate the governor's work by instructing his men realizing the program," he stated.
Executive Director Alzheimer's Indonesia, DY Suharya, added that Jakarta inserts alzheimer socialization material for junior and senior high school orientation period. The socialization is also done for civil servant who will retire. Ten Alzheimer symptoms video is also played via videotron.
