Governor's Speech Budget Extremely Cut

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), explained that the speech budget is not only for the governor, but also his vice and regional secretary (Sekda). The governor also has cut the speech budget drastically.

The budget is lower compared to previous years by billion of rupiah.

"The number of freelancers is also cut. The budget is including the freelancers' salary. I have eliminate the budget," he said, Friday (9/11).

2016, Jakarta Civil Servant's Workload Raised

During Fauzi Bowo incumbency in 2011, the speech budget reached Rp 1.2 billion. The budget was used as speech composition and paper.

The allocation was detailed again, Rp 1,006,360,000 for civil servant expenditure, goods and service expenditure Rp 186,293,000, and capital expenditure Rp 57,350,000. The speech budget in 2012 was still Rp 1.2 billion. Basuki eliminated the budget in 2013 budget amendment.

The Rp 805 million of speech budget in City Budget General Policy and Priority Plafond of Temporary Budget (KUAPPAS) 2016 has been cut into Rp 388 billion.

Basuki appealed the civil servant to be able to arrange a speech without helping from freelancers.
