Electric Bus Deals Must Go Through LKPP

Jakarta Provincial Government gets electric bus offering from PT Steady Safe for capital public transport. In fact, the offering must be done via Government Procurement Regulatory Body (LKPP).

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), said that he interested with the offering. But, he will not buy that bus.

Ahok: LKPP Should Think in Business Way, Not Technical!

He does not care with the Tiongkok-branded bus as long as it meets the requirement. "I don't care with the bus brand since we do not take care the bus condition," he added.

As planned, the bus will be operated under Transjakarta management. The bus could travel up to 250 km after 5 hours charging. The governor had check the bus which was parked at City Hall. "The bus is good," he continued.

According to him, PT Steady Safe is able to produce electric bus up to dozens unit. If the agreement is signed, the bus will be delivered in the middle of 2016. The bus BYD brand price is Rp 3 billion.
