5,000 Troubled Buildings Targeted to Be Demolished

Jakarta Provincial Government through its Dept. of Spatial Planning targeted to dismantle 5,000 troubled buildings up to 2017. The plan is based on city's mid-term regional development plan (RPJMD) 2012-2017.

"It means we must dismantle 1,000 troubled buildings in each year," said Iswan Achmadi, head of the agency, Thursday (9/17).

Achmadi added there were 363 units have been dismantled during January to September 15, 2015 due to violating rules or designation. "Those buildings were residential and non-residential," he added.

25 Stalls on Jalan Manggarai Selatan Demolished

Mostly the buildings were having no building permit or violating the designation to be commercial.

"There were a house but used as store-house, then one floor building but built in two floors, and above green lane," he continued.

The demolition does not applied to all building part, but only the troubled object.

"But we must dismantle the whole building above the green lane," he uttered.
