PT MRT Jakarta Ready to Run Second Phase Construction

Drilling Machine for MRT to Operate 24 Hours

President Director of PT MRT Jakarta, Dono Boestami optimistic the first phase (Lebak Bulus – HI roundabut) could finish on time in 2018.

“We optimistic it could be finished it on time and we’re now ready to continue the second one. Still on engineering consultant phase,” he uttered, Tuesday (9/22).

Boestami explained, feasibility study of second phase had conducted in last 2010. The result revealed that the construction needs at least JPY 133 billion. The corridor of second phase by 8 kilometers long railway, 8 stations and a depot in Kampung Bandan, North Jakarta.

Meanwhile, for first phase construction is already entering underground drilling and has reached 30 percent.

Separately, Boestami hoped the feasibility study of second phase East-West route Cikarang – Balaraja could be done at the same time. So the construction can carry out simultaneously. However, the second phase of MRT construction is integrated three provinces namely Jakarta-West Java-Banten.
