Online Ojek Used Sidewalk as Their Base

The rampant of app-based ojek (motorcycle taxi) starts out to pose trouble. Since there is no available place to wait passenger, they used sidewalk as their base.

They presence indeed help residents mobility, but if they use sidewalk as their base it will quite disturb public order

Relaying on beritajakarta.com's observation, there are at least 5 points of sidewalk used. They are Jalan Jendral Sudirman in front of Amjaya University, SCBD, under pedestrian bridge (JPO) City Police Quarters (Mapolda), in front of Tax Office Building.

He hoped, the government can arrange them. “If I were you, I’ll provide base to make it orderly,” he uttered.

Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Priyanto acknowledged his sub-department is currently setting the arrangement program of online ojek.

“In legal law, they have no any permission. We’ll certainly control them as concerning that is illegal parking,” he finished.
