Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Department closed down 400 inactive cooperatives all over the capital.

"We have closed down 400 out of 7,000 inactive cooperatives in Jakarta," stated Irwandi, Head of Jakarta KUMKMP Department, Monday (10/12).

Irwandi explained it is in accordance with a standard operating procedures (SOP), that is if they are inactive two days ahead, they will be closed down or revoked its permit.]

"We also indefinitely do data collection and I predict there will be 20 percent of cooperative closed down in future," he reported.

Earlier, Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat instructed KUMKMP Department to control inactive cooperatives. It was aimed to strengthen economic in order to welcome the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) in 2016.
