The water channel along Jalan Perintis kemerdekaan, Kayu Putih, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, was normalized. The effort was done to anticipate the rainy season.

Based on Beritajakarta.com's observation, the workers used simple tools to clean the channel. The mud taken from the channel put into the sack and placed on the sidewalk to get dry.

East Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Water Management, Ahmad Yazied Bustomi, said the length of the channel is 1 kilometer and width is 80-100 centimeter.

"The channel was not dredged for 2 years. We also deepen the channel into 1-1.5 meter," he said.

The project is targeted to be done before December ends.
