PPSU Personnel Cleaned Mati River in Penggilingan

Mati river located at RW 05 Penggilingan Urban Village, East Jakarta was cleaned by tens of Infrastructure and Public Facility Handling (PPSU) personnel. Since trash clogged the river, flood will certainly occur in the area during rainy season.

Trash always piling up during rainy season and the worst thing is water river frequent overflowing to residential area. Moreover, it been almost 2 years it never be dredged,

Penggilingan Urban Village Head, Usdiyati acknowledged usually trash drift away by flow and accumulate at RW 05 Penggilingan.

Trash reached 300 meters and resulting river water to overflow. Though the river has a depth of about 3 meters and a width of 3 meters.

“Trash looked piling up during rainy season and the worst thing is water river frequent overflowing to residential area. Moreover, dredging never been carried out since two year ago,” she uttered.

About 45 PPSU personnel were deployed to conduct the cleaning. “We run the cleaning for two weeks,” she expressed.

Moreover, she admitted the ban banner has already been installed in the location. Unluckily, residents awareness of environment is still low because they remain littering.

“Flooded always hit in RW 06 area,” she disclosed.
