Tirem Lagoa River Normalized

About hundreds of meters from Tirem Lagoa River, North Jakarta, began to be normalized. About three units of excavators are deployed to accelerate dredging the sediment in the river.

The river narrows from 10 meters to 2-4 meters

According to Kasna, Head of North Jakarta Water Management Dept, the Tirem Lagoa River normalization is conducted along RW 06 area, Tanjung Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-District with 600 meters length. Besides sediment, the river also narrows due to illegal buildings.

November, Mampang River Normalized

"The river narrows from 10 meters to 2-4 meters," he reported, Monday (11/9).

He added the condition should be handled immediately. Moreover, rainy season has hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas lately. "Total length of river is about 3 kilometers, starting from Sunter Utara Pump House until Yos Sudarso. But for the first phase, the normalization will be done up to 600 meters," he told.

He hoped the work could reduce flooding in areas that spread in Warakas Urban Village, Sungai Bambu, Kebon Bawang and Papanggo. "We’re trying to expedite the work by sending three excavators," he closed.
