Heroes' Day, Many Riders Did Not Turn Off Vehicle Machine

Most of riders on protocol roads did not pay their respect on Heroes' Day. Whereas, Jakarta City Police's side has socialized long before that riders must turn off their machine for 60 seconds at 8.15 AM on Heroes' Day, this Tuesday (11/10).

The circulars telegram was listed on Telegram Letter No. STR/3097/X/2015 dated October 27, 2015 from Chief of Jakarta City Police Ir. Gen. Tito Karnavian signed in the name of City Police Chief-Head of Operation Bureau Grand Comr. Martuani Sormin.

According to Beritajakarta.com observation’s, on Jalan Jendral Sudirman, during the determined times there are still vehicles run as usual. None of them stopped for a while to do the appeal in order to respect slain heroes.

"I did not know about the appeal that should turn off vehicles for 60 seconds," said Putra (33), one of motorcyclists, Tuesday (11/10).

The same thing was also disclosed by other motorcyclist, Ardi (35). According to him, actually the appeal was very good, it was just lacking of socialization.

"I knew it, I would have turned off the machine, as it shows nationalism," he expressed.
