City to Focus on Development of Creative Industry

Jakarta City Administration will focus on economic development towards creative industry, tourism and port. While for heavy industry development will be encouraged outside Jakarta.

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat uttered that the city administration is about to synergize with West Java and Banten Provincial Governments in the upcoming meeting of Bank Indonesia's Broad Seminar on next Friday (11/13).

He added that the alternative location for heavy industry needs to notice geo-economic aspect and region potential.

Djarot cited Karawang area that becomes national granary region will endanger food stock if it is used as an industrial zone.

“It’s impossible to move to other border cities like Bekasi, Bogor and Depok. That’s why, we need intensive discussion about this matter with them,” he uttered.
