Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat wanted to impose harsh moral sanction to waste thrower who spotted littering. It is due to waste piles in river and flood at some points.

“We have to form a waste police to control waste thrower in Jakarta,” he said, when he attended Ciliwung Day’s Celebration in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Wednesday (11/11).
According to him, littering means citizen do not love themselves. This is because the nature will avenge ill-treatment made by humans.
Waste Thrower in the River Hunted“I see so many Kinds of waste exist in the river, starting from bed, pillow, towel and chicken carcasses. This shows we hurt Ciliwung River,” he deplored.
Djarot continued, every day, Jakartans can produce 7,500 tons of waste. And the environment care community can only process 1,500 tons, and the rest disposed to Bantar Gebang Landfill.
“I always told citizen, you’d better sorting your own trash. By doing so, we can contribute in saving our environment,” he finished.
